Hi Marcus — thanks for getting the offer over so quickly. Before I sign I wanted to come back to you on the base rate.

The verified Cleveland metro 75th-percentile for 6-YOE ICU staff is $56.80/hr. Your offer is $44.10. Given my CCRN and float-pool experience, I'd like to land at $52.50/hr — roughly the metro median for my YOE.

That's about +$18,300/yr over my current rate, on the same shift count. Happy to talk it through whenever works.

The honest answers

Things nurses ask before paying.

No.Any nurse account can subscribe to Pro — sign up, pick your plan, and you're in. License verification is a separate step that gates whether your own salary submission shows up in the aggregate data; it's not a gate on buying Pro.

The only purchase rule: Pro is for nurses, the Student Plan is for students. Stripe checkout enforces that based on your account type — nothing else.

Whichever tier is open the day you subscribe stays yours for as long as your subscription is active. If you join at $29/yr today, your renewal next year is $29. Five years from now? Still $29. We'll never raise the price on an active member.

If we raise prices on new sign-ups (we will, eventually), you keep your tier. The only way you lose it is if you cancel and re-subscribe later — at whichever tier is open at that time.

Because we hate the "Premium-Plus-Enterprise" maze too. You're either using the salary data, or you're using the tools that turn it into a raise. That's it. Free for the data, Pro for the tools.

Every submission comes from a nurse whose state license number we've confirmed. Numbers are self-reported by that verified nurse, with format and outlier checks on the back end. No license, no submission in the data.

That's why our numbers don't match Glassdoor or ZipRecruiter — those let anyone post anything. Ours come from licensed nurses we can identify.

The Negotiation Toolkit is built around your real metro pay data — counter-offer math, conversation scripts, and an editable letter. One small raise covers years of Pro.

And if it doesn't pay for itself: cancel anytime, no questions, no awkward exit survey. Full refund within 14 days, no strings.

No. Submissions are unlinked from your profile inside our database. We don't sell, share, or surface names — not to hospital systems, not to recruiters, not to journalists.

The only thing public is the aggregate: rate, metro, specialty, YOE.

Yes. Cancel from your account settings — no phone trees, no retention call, no awkward exit survey. You keep access through the end of your billing period, and your Career Chapters export to PDF on the way out.

No.Jemma is for individual nurses, paid by the nurse, full stop. We don't take money from hospital systems and we won't build the tools that flip that incentive.

Your next shift deserves a better number.

Built by nurses. Verified by nurses. Priced so any nurse can afford it. Locked for life at whatever tier you join at.

The honest answers

Things students ask before paying.

No.Any student account can subscribe — sign up as a student and you're in. The Stripe checkout only checks that you're on the student path.

Verifying your .edu (or sending a transcript to hello@nursejemma.comif your school doesn't issue .edu addresses) unlocks the free student tools — aggregate salary data, Loan Repayment Planner, Honest Debt Club, Referrals. You can do that any time; it's a separate step from paying.

Anyone with an active .edu address enrolled in an accredited nursing program — ADN, BSN, accelerated, direct-entry MSN, all of it. If you're studying to be a nurse, you qualify.

You stay on the Student Plan through your NCLEX month, and we apply a $10 credit toward your first year of Pro. Whatever Pro tier is currently open — Founding if it's still alive, otherwise Early Adopter or Full — that's the rate you keep.

You'll get a heads-up email two weeks out. No surprise charge.

The Salary Explorer breaks down by years-of-experience, including 0–1 YOE. So when a residency offers $30/hr, you can see what other new grads in your metro actually accepted.

That number alone is worth more than $19/yr.

That's exactly when it's most useful. The First Job Prep Kit was built for the gap between capstone and your first offer letter — when residency programs are recruiting, sign-on bonuses are flying, and nobody's told you what the strings actually are.

Email us a current transcript or enrollment verification letter at hello@nursejemma.com. We'll verify by hand within 24 hours.

We can't gift a full Student Plan subscription yet — but if you're a paid member, you can gift 30 days of Career Chapters from your dashboard, and the same referral link gives any friend $5 off their first year if they subscribe.

Want to comp a full year for someone specific? Email us at hello@nursejemma.comand we'll handle it manually until the proper gift flow ships.

The honest answers

Things retired nurses ask before paying.

No.Retired accounts skip license verification entirely. Sign up, tell us a little about your career (specialty, last role, retirement year), and you're in.

You can still log every license and credential you held — they become chapters in your scrapbook, with the dates and the stories behind them.

You decide.Fully retired from clinical work, semi-retired, working per-diem in retirement, or just stepped away from active practice — if you're no longer building toward your next raise, the Retired Plan is built for you.

The founding tier is built around locking in pricing for the next 30 years of active practice. For retired nurses, that math doesn't apply — you've earned your career, not staked a flag on the next one.

So we set one flat, fair number: $19/yr. Same as the Student Plan, for symmetry. We'll never raise it on an active member.

The Toolkit is built around live employment negotiations — counter-offer letters, current market math, conversation scripts for next week's 1-on-1. It's a tool for the middle of a career, not the look back.

If you ever return to bedside or pick up agency work, you can switch to a Pro subscription — your scrapbook comes with you.

Merit Log is the same shape — review prep, raise conversations, the stuff you need when your manager asks "what have you done this quarter?" It's for the next promotion, not the long look back. Career Chapters is the Retired-Plan equivalent for storytelling: voice-capture, photos, the rate at the time, the unit, the colleague you remember.

Yes. Every chapter has a private share link, and you can export the whole book to PDF any time. We've had retired nurses use Chapters as a starting point for memoirs, hospital archives, and grandkids' school projects.

You stay in control of who sees what. Each chapter has a Private toggle if a moment is just for you.

You keep access through the end of your billing period, and your Career Chapters export to PDF on the way out. If you come back later — at whatever the Retired Plan price is then — your chapters come back with you.

Not yet. We kept the price low enough that it's less than one shift differential — that's the discount, basically. Email us at hello@nursejemma.comif you have a partner-org perk request and we'll consider it.

Pull the whole career together.
