How is my pay data kept private?
Individual salary submissions are never shown publicly. Your salary feeds aggregate statistics that only surface once we have at least five verified submissions for a given cut, with deeper percentile breakdowns unlocking at 30, 100, and 200. Your name, license number, and employer are never attached to anything a visitor sees.
Why do you need my license number if this is anonymous?
We use it once, at verification, to confirm you're a practicing nurse (or a CNA with a state Nurse Aide Registry number). Licenses are format-validated and, where possible, cross-checked against state boards. They are never displayed alongside salary data and never exposed through any public-facing tool.
Is Jemma really free?
Yes. Browsing verified salaries and adding your own is free — no credit card, no trial clock, no paywall on the data. The salary database is the heart of Jemma and it stays free forever. Optional paid plans for extra career tools are what fund the platform.
Will my data ever be sold or shared with hospitals or recruiters?
No. Verified salary submissions feed Jemma's public aggregate statistics — always anonymized, always above the minimum sample size. We do not sell individual data, bulk datasets, or inferred profiles to recruiters, hospital systems, staffing agencies, or data brokers. Not now, not ever.
Do other healthcare professions see Jemma's data?
No. Jemma is nurse-only — RN, LPN, APRN, and CNA. The data stays inside the nursing community because that's the only cohort contributing to it. No hospital administrators, no recruiters, no cross-profession comparisons.
How does Jemma make money?
Our goal is to build a place that nurses can celebrate their career and get paid what they are worth. At the core of Jemma is the most accurate salary database for nurses — not for hospitals, not for recruiters, not for any other healthcare profession. Jemma isn’t a Silicon Valley startup and we don’t have venture capital backing. Revenue from our paid plans goes back into the platform — better tools, deeper analysis, and direct give-back to the nurse community. We charge a small annual subscription for premium features that allows us to pay our small but mighty team and keep the lights on.
